'Dancing With The Stars' Producers Eyeing Luann de Lesseps, LeAnn Rimes & Fran Drescher For Season 30
After taking a hiatus from CBS daytime chatfest The Talk to focus on her health, many wondered if Carrie Ann Inaba would also sit out the new season of Dancing With the Stars.
Fear not, the longtime judge recently confirmed she was returning for season 30 of the hit dancing competition series. "Bring on the ballroom 💃 #DWTS returns to ABC September 20 at 8|7c! 🎉,” she wrote via Instagram on July 16. “I’ll be there! Will you? Who’s ready for our 30th season? ✨✨✨@dancingabc.”
With fans of the beloved series excited about Inaba’s return as judge, it has many clamoring for details on who the celebrity dancers will be. Now, a source exclusively spills to OK! that “producers are working overtime to get the perfect cast for the forthcoming season of DWTS.”
The insider reveals that some of the people at the “top of producers' wish list” are country singer LeAnn Rimes, Real Housewives of New York City star Luann de Lesseps and TV legend Fran Drescher.
The sources also dishes that previously, controversial talk show host Meghan McCain "was on the list, but her departure from The View, which is the same network, has made that more complicated.”
As OK! previously reported, McCain announced earlier this month that she would be departing The View after four years — and many clashes with her cohosts — at the end of July.
Many believe that McCain will end up at right-wing cable channel Fox News, but that has yet to be determined. In the interim, the buzz is who will fill McCain’s conservative shoes on the daytime talker.
Some of the controversial names being tossed around to fill McCain's vacant seat at The View are conservative author and political commentator Candace Owens, staunch Republican and reality TV star Caitlyn Jenner and Debbie Matenopoulos.
Meanwhile, it seems the upcoming season of Dancing With the Stars is not one to be missed. "Negotiations and offers will go right through August until the very last minute for the September launch,” the source adds. “The pressure is on to make it perfect.”
