She's a fighter! Crystal Hefner revealed she nearly died last year after a botched plastic surgery procedure. The widow of Playboy founder Hugh Hefner took to social media to detail her agonizing operation.

“I had a fat transfer surgery October 16 and almost didn’t make it through,” she captioned a photo on her Instagram of herself wrapped in bandages. “I lost half the blood in my body and ended up in the hospital needing a blood transfusion. I’ve been slowly eating my way back to health since then and I am now finally feeling ok.”
A fat transfer procedure involves fat being sucked out of one area of the body and transferred to another — it is most commonly used in women to increase the size of their breasts.
“I advocate for being natural since I got very ill and removed my implants and everything else toxic in my body in 2016, the former Playmate added. “I should have learned my lesson the first time but I guess the universe keeps sending you the same lesson until you learn it.“

The 34-year-old highlighted the pressure that women are under to always be beautiful and are held to unrealistic societal standards. “Our culture is a trap and makes women feel terrible about themselves,” she wrote. “Movies (84.9% directed by men) make it worse. Social media makes it worse. Advertisements make it worse. Physically fake people make it worse (I was one of them).”
The blonde bombshell admitted that her time working with Playboy had a lasting effect on her mental well-being and how she views her body. “For ten years my value was based on how good my physical body looked. I was rewarded and made a living based on my outer appearance,” Crystal said. “To this day I need to write reminders of why I’m worthy that have nothing to do with my physical appearance to convince myself that I’m enough.”
The Girls Next Door alum went on to say that she “feels sorry for the next generation looking up to people whose looks aren’t even attainable without lots of filters, makeup, or money and women need to stop feeding into it.”
In 2016, Crystal revealed that she removed her breast implants because they had started to poison her and cause her to become extremely ill.
The former Crystal Harris was married to publishing icon Hugh Hefner from 2012-2017, until his tragic passing at age 91.
