Freeze Frame! 15 Celebs Who've Admitted To Loving Botox: Courteney Cox, Kelly Ripa & More
These days, Botox and celebrities go hand in hand. What used to be a taboo, hush-hush procedure done on the down-low has now become the must-have measure for maintaining ageless beauty in Hollywood and beyond.
"Celebrities share so much more personal info and day to day life because of social media," says Dr. Ashley Magovern, Manhattan Dermatology. "It’s not even just an after picture of their Botox results that they are sharing with their fans. I have celebrities come in for treatments like Vivace RF Microneedling and they record the entire process which is a lot more raw and definitely make-up free. And their followers can’t get enough, they are super engaged in a positive way with what the celebrity just had done! It’s like the celebrities are the word-of-mouth 'guinea pig' for the latest and greatest treatments that influence the every-day consumer to realize you can get cosmetic treatments and still look like your natural beautiful self."

Approved by the Food and Drug Administration since 2002, Botox is injected into muscles and is used to temporarily improve the look of moderate to severe forehead lines, crow’s feet lines and frown lines between the eyebrows in adults. Lasting generally up to four months, the relatively painless procedure can also be used to combat excess sweating in the hands and armpits and to relieve chronic migraines.
"People are overly concerned they will look unnatural or frozen," she says about Botox's biggest misconception. "Everyone also thinks that their eye will droop. If Botox is done correctly, the eye should actually look more open and you should have a natural-looking, pleasing eyebrow shape. The skin should look smoother and younger. No one should know that you’ve had anything done."
CELEBRITIES WHO HAVE HAD CORONAVIRUS — STARS EXPLAIN THEIR EXPERIENCES WITH COVID-19
And it’s not just the obvious reality stars who are coming clean about using Botox to turn back time and stop their wrinkles (looking at you, Housewives).
"The consumers are much more savvy now – and again partly due to social media," continues Magovern. "I think transparency, or at least perceived transparency, is what fans want to see, when a celebrity denies it they can lose that authenticity, and for the most part, the majority of the population that follows pop-culture, now realize you can get cosmetic treatments and still look natural and age gracefully. "
In honor of National Botox Day on Wednesday, November 18, OK! looks at the unexpected A-listers who have raised a few eyebrows (well... not literally, of course!) for admitting they love getting injected.

Kim Catrall
Like her iconic 'Sex And The City' character Samantha, Kim Catrall isn’t afraid of a little injection, telling the Huffington Post, “I have a big crease between my eyebrows and I use Botox to get rid of that.”
Robin Wright
"Everybody f**king does it," actress Robin Wright once told The Telegraph. "I suppose I can't say 'everybody' because I don't know for sure, but come on. It's just the tiniest sprinkle of Botox twice a year. I think most women do 10 units, but that freezes the face and you can't move it. This is just one unit, and it's just sprinkled here and there to take the edge off...Perhaps it's not wise to put that in a magazine? But I ain't hiding anything."
Jenny McCarthy
Blonde bombshell Jenny McCarthy has admitted she loves getting Botox injections. "I'm an obvious Botox user," she told Life & Style. "I tell everyone."
But 'The Masked Singer' judge was quick to add that a little goes a long way. "I go every two months," she said. "My tricks are, I get Botox in my forehead — I just have my doctor do a little shot there. If you overdo, it looks bad. I believe in just a little bit. It allows you to keep that mobility in your face. It’s a great little secret."
Courteney Cox
Courteney Cox openly admits to using Botox to feel better about herself but told InStyle she makes sure not to go overboard.
"Sometimes I use Botox. One time I did too much, though,” she said. “I feel weird if I can’t move my face, and that one time I overdid it, I felt trapped in my own skin."
Sharon Osbourne
Sharon Osbourne is no stranger to going under the knife and isn’t shy about professing her love for Botox, too. She once called it “one of the best things that has ever been created for cosmetic surgery.”
Jennifer Aniston
Jennifer Aniston hasn’t officially copped to using Botox on her face but she did admit she knows it’s a super effective way to fight excessive sweat underneath the arms. In an interview with Real Simple, Aniston was asked what deodorant she likes (among other products). The actress' response? “Hmm..it’s not natural, but did you know you can get Botox in your armpits?!” Sounds like a ringing endorsement.
Kelly Ripa
When asked about her beauty favorite products, Kelly Ripa named just one. "Botox," she simply told Andy Cohen on 'Watch What Happens Live.' "That's pretty much it."
The 50 year-old said she spends so much time in hair and makeup for her talk show-hosting job that she doesn't feel "ritualistic" about her beauty routine. However, since she began getting Botox treatment, she said, getting ready to go out has been quicker."It's cut my getting ready time in half," she said. "I'm not advocating for it one way or the other. I'm just saying Botox changed my life."
So how does the talk show host avoid looking constantly surprised? Moderation, she said. "The key to everything is knowing what you look like and being a minimalist," she said. "Your cheeks are not supposed to block out your eyes when you smile!"
Linda Evangelista
"I was the first person to ever admit that I did Botox, and my mom was upset," supermodel Linda Evangelista told Harper's Bazaar. "I said, 'Mom everybody does it,' and she was like, 'Yeah but they don't say it.' So if I was the first one to tell the truth about using it then, why would I lie about it now?"
Olivia Coleman
Olivia Coleman made a royal confession in an interview with The Sunday Times. 'The Crown' actress revealed that not only has she had Botox done, but she loves it.
"I have done Botox and I LOVED it, but I’ve done it when I know there is a big gap between roles,” she said. “I didn’t tell my husband and then for about six months he kept saying, 'Hello, Pretty!' and then I told him and he found it hilarious."
Simon Cowell
Think Botox is only for women? Think again. Simon Cowell admitted to Glamour U.K. that he regularly gets Botox injections. “To me, Botox is no more unusual than toothpaste,” the 'America’s Got Talent' judge said. “It works, you do it once a year — who cares?”
Vanessa Williams
When it comes to Botox in Hollywood, Vanessa Williams says "no one talks about, but everybody does it. The doctor that I go to for my Botox does it gently, so I can act,” she told ABC News. "Which is important as an actress, to be able to be expressive."
Unlike other women who keep your wondering, "What did they do," Williams said, "I'm the girl that'll say, 'uh, I'll tell you what I did.'"
Cindy Crawford
"I’m not going to lie to myself, past a certain age, creams work on the texture of your skin but, in order to restore elasticity, all I can really count on is vitamin injections, Botox, and collagen," supermodel Cindy Crawford told InStyle. "I have a very simple, healthy life, which works miracles. I drink a lot of water, watch what I eat, and exercise… but I owe the quality of my skin to my cosmetic surgeon.”
Chrissy Teigen
In September, Chrissy Teigen revealed that she was getting Botox done while pregnant with baby number three, but not for cosmetic reasons.
"I get really, really bad pregnancy headaches," she wrote via Twitter. "Was thrilled to be cleared to do neck muscle Botox along with a crazy combo of Beta Blocker shots and radio wave frequency something something doctor terms. Anyhow, man, it's just so bad, but I see the light finally." Sadly, she lost her baby a few weeks later.
Teigen also previously copped to getting Botox injections from Dr. Jason Diamond in her armpits to prevent excessive sweating. "Botoxed my armpits. Truly best move I have ever made. I can wear silk again without soaking woohoo!" she wrote on video of herself getting the injections. "Truly didn't hurt at all! but I also do laser hair removal there so my pain tolerance might be quite high."
Chloë Sevigny
“I think Botox is good,” actress Chloë Sevigny told Into the Gloss. “It’s just a preventative for my 11 lines, but also my derm is very conservative because I’m an actress. I attack the 11s too, with massage. Sometimes I catch myself doing that and it’s really embarrassing.”
Oliver Hudson
Oliver Hudson recently came clean about having tried Botox — and he says he'll do it again. The 44-year-old actor detailed his experience at the dermatologist to sister Kate Hudson during an episode of their podcast, "Sibling Revelry." As Hudson describes, he wasn't planning to have Botox, but his doctor convinced him to try a little in the forehead area, encouraging the actor to just trust in his cosmetic skills. "The doctor puts Botox in my face, and I didn't feel anything," he said.
So far, so good? "Two days later I'm making an expression in the mirror and one eyebrow literally goes up into my hairline," he recalled.
Oops! "I'm like, what the f**k is going on," exclaimed Hudson. "It looked insane. I looked like a villain."
"You just ruined my life," Hudson accused his doctor. However, a return trip to the clinic — and a bit more Botox injected to even things out — solved the issue.
This time, Hudson was placated. "I think I liked it," he told his sister. "I think I might do it again."
