Hayden Panettiere’s support of her abusive on-off boyfriend Brian Hickerson has loved ones terrified for her safety.

Still, an insider tells OK! she’s doubling down — and even contemplating marrying him! Hickerson, 33, “is bad news, but Hayden just can’t quit him,” the insider says of the actress, 32, who was recently caught on video getting dragged into Hickerson’s nasty brawl outside a Hollywood bar.

“She’s wary about publicly confirming their relationship because she knows what people will say, but privately they’re very much together, and he’s piling on the pressure to tie the knot."

The Heroes alum — who shares daughter Kaya, 7, with ex Wladimir Klitschko — “thinks Brian’s just misunderstood and has no intention of abandoning him,” the insider adds. "Her family and friends are worried sick that she’ll marry the guy. They think it’s the worst move she could make!”

As OK! exclusively reported, after Panettiere and Hickerson got close again, the actress did not think anything was wrong about hanging out with the real estate agent despite her loved ones advising her otherwise.

“Everyone keeps telling Hayden that Brian is bad news, but she’s sick and tired of people butting in and telling her how to live her life," an insider dished. However, Panettiere “admits Brian skewed up royally in the past, but she insists he’s a changed man and sees nothing wrong with hanging out together."

“Her friends and family are afraid history will repeat itself, but sometimes it feels like there’s no talking sense into her,” the source noted.

"Hayden is open to forgiving Brian and starting a new chapter,” despite her loved ones warning her not to. “Hayden has a huge heart and wants to see the best in everyone," the insider said of the pair — who originally started dating in 2018.
