'Enough With the Feud Narrative': Kate Middleton's 'Condition' May Hasten Reconciliation With Meghan Markle and Prince Harry

Catherine, Princess of Wales, has been labeled a "peacemaker" as she recuperates from a "serious" abdominal surgery.

"Health problems do tend to put everything else in perspective. If Harry and Meghan have made an effort to reach out to Kate to offer their best wishes, Kate will reciprocate," a mutual friend of Kate and the Duke and Duchess of Sussex spilled.

"William would quite happily never speak to either of them again, but Kate’s a peacemaker at heart. She would definitely be open to using this situation to build bridges. Never waste a good crisis, right?" the confidant added. "You have to remember that Kate and Harry were exceptionally close. He adored her, and she provided a sense of stability after the chaos of his youth. I actually can’t imagine a world in which he wouldn’t have sent her a note, despite everything."

They continued: "Everyone in the family has, frankly, had enough of the whole feud narrative. It’s way past time the whole thing was put to bed. Trust has been damaged, and I don’t think they are ever going to be calling each other for a heart-to-heart like the old days, but it’s time to move on."

But the rift between the former "fab four" of millennial royals is likely permanent.

"I'm ready to move past it. Whether I get an apology or accountability, who knows? Who really cares at this point?" Harry told a friend when sharing how exasperated he was with the non-stop feud.

However, another former friend of both brothers candidly revealed that the Prince of Wales "absolutely f------ hates" his younger brother. "There’s a huge amount of anger there. [William] feels betrayed and sad about the situation. But he also doesn’t agree with the things his brother feels he has done. He feels he has lost Harry and doesn’t want to know this version of him," Omid Scobie wrote in Endgame when sharing what the siblings' former pal spilled.

"There is no way back for the brothers. I just can’t see it," veteran royal commentator Jennie Bond told an outlet in September 2023. "Because of these entrenched positions and the fact Harry has visited the U.K. without either of them, as far as we know, lifting a finger to phone or text or meet up, I really can’t see them mending the rift any time soon," the royal expert added.

"William is hurt so deeply that I think he probably just blanks Harry out of his mind most of the time. He has moved on with his life, and I guess so has Harry," she continued.

As The Royal Observer previously reported, the rift that has developed between the once close royal siblings has been there for a few years now but went "nuclear" once Harry attacked William in his memoir, Spare.
